Erdogan Praises Azerbaijan, Armenia Peace Endeavors
Speaking via video message to the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity 2026 program, Erdogan expressed hope that the award would bring blessings to all, particularly amid current global challenges.
He congratulated Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the recipients of this year’s award, and highlighted the importance of the agreement reached last August, noting that it could open “a brand-new chapter in the future of the Caucasus.”
Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to peace, prosperity, and stability in the region, stating that his country will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure lasting peace in the Caucasus and foster friendship based on fairness.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an annual independent recognition honoring individuals or organizations worldwide that work selflessly to bridge divides and promote genuine human connection, often at great personal sacrifice.
