Kozarev Confers with Outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Dušan Kozarev met today with the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamil Hasiyev, to discuss bilateral issues, the results achieved during the Ambassador’s tenure in Serbia, and prospects for further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan would continue to develop, primarily through the work of the Strategic Partnership Council, the first mechanism of its kind established by Azerbaijan with another country, as well as through the exchange of contacts at high and highest levels.

The interlocutors underlined that the strategic partnership between Serbia and Azerbaijan represents a major achievement, to the establishment and development of which the Presidents of the two countries, their Ministers of Foreign Affairs, as well as the diplomatic and consular missions in Belgrade and Baku, have made a decisive contribution.

Kozarev thanked Ambassador Hasiyev for his dedication and contribution to advancing bilateral relations during his five-year diplomatic tenure, as well as for Azerbaijan’s consistent and principled support for the preservation of Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and wished him every success in his future career.
